Our relationship with Transpire started in 2015, when our partner Jonathan Kress began working with the owners of the business to provide more forward looking and proactive advice than they had been receiving from previous advisors. Jonathan began this process through our Digital Financial Intelligence (#DFi) process.

TGS Business Advisory Services

In 2015, after conducting a #DFi review of Transpire, we identified the need to adjust their pricing methodology. Being familiar with professional firm structures, we were able to advise Transpire around setting appropriate charge out rates for their staff and utilisation targets for their staff in order for the owners to meet their financial targets. This was to ensure that each job they won was priced in a way that it added to the success and sustainability of the business.

We helped guide the leadership team to place more rigour around their monthly reviews of performance and established cloud reporting structures through #DFi. In addition, we established forward looking cashflow models and budgets to provide the owners comfort around the working capital requirements of the business.

Over the years, we established deep trust with the client and we have gone on to offer a substantial amount of advisory support to Transpire, including full back office support through our Virtual CFO offering.

Other business advisory services includes:

  • Advice on revenue recognition and creating a revenue recognition tool to simplify month end accounting.

  • Short term cash forecasts, 3-way forecasts and budget setting.

  • Working with owners to set relevant KPIs.

  • Building management reports and attending meetings to present.

  • Writing Position description for internal finance resources and attending interviews.

  • Assistance with dealing with financiers.
